UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM presents "Air Pollution and How AI can help fill the gaps" Robin Bradley and Annabel Pan (University of Hertfordshire) 11 November 2020 12:00 - 13:00 (NOTE THE ANOMALOUS TIME) Over Zoom Abstract Air Pollution is responsible for an estimated 40,000 premature deaths in the UK per year. Today, Air Pollution monitoring is an EU Directive that every local authority and council need to adhere to. In a capitalist democracy, there has to be a consideration of the economic issues as well as the public health ones and the more ‘responsible’ businesses, council and local authorities have entered into this debate in a rational and constructive way. In this webinar Robin Bradley and Annabel Pan, discuss how their University AI team are leveraging AI and machine learning techniques in order to monitor and predict Air Pollution. They will discuss the current trends in Air Pollution monitoring and prediction; how AI and ML models can help with Air quality predictive models and how these models can 'fill the gaps' for industry and local authorities.
