Abstract:

I shall discuss new mathematical methods, algorithms and software designed
for the analysis of neural data. In particular, I shall present algorithms
and software I have developed for the problem of `spike sorting' for
electrophysiological recordings made with a new generation of large
dense probes which are capable of recording from hundreds to thousands of
neurons simultaneously in vivo. In the second part of my talk, I shall
discuss how novel methods topological data analysis can be applied to
neural data.
