UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM presents "Human Robot Interaction: The challenge of long-term interaction" Dr. Katrin Solveig Lohan (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh) 26 January 2016 (Tuesday) 10 am - 11 am Hatfield, College Lane Campus Lecture Theatre LC108 Everyone is Welcome to Attend Refreshments will be available Abstract: In current state of the art research on HRI the focus is often on local and fairly isolated subsystems. This is due to the complexity of observing, evaluating and manipulating a dynamic system, which often results in hardly scaleable and untransferable systems. The great challenge for the coming years in HRI will be to overcome these problems as well as create an appropriate base for future evaluation methods. As HRI is a multi-disciplinary field, it has the advantage of attracting a lot of attention on the sides of media, researchers and industry. In this talk I will discuss about how human robot interaction can make the next step by moving from a discrete time step system to a long-term evaluation method. --------------------------------------------------- Hertfordshire Computer Science Research Colloquium http://cs-colloq.stca.herts.ac.uk
