UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM presents "Detecting Human Movement" Ken Tabb (Computer Science Department University of Hertfordshire) 7 May 2003 (Wednesday) Lecture Theatre A600 3 - 4 pm Coffee/tea and biscuits will be available. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND! Abstract: In this talk I'll be discussing my research involving the detection and tracking of humans, using Active Contour Models and Neural Networks. I'll cover: * how we obtain data * how we find moving objects in an image sequence (or video) * how we obtain the outline of those moving objects * how we determine which of those moving objects are human * experiments and experimental results I'll skip 99% of the maths (leaving only the easy bits in), so it should be for all audiences (and can talk about the maths afterwards if people are interested in exactly how it works). --------------------- Colloquium Abstracts: On-line: http://homepages.feis.herts.ac.uk/~nehaniv/colloq/
