UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM "Visualization of Biochemical Pathways and their Simulation Results" Dr. Katja Wegner (School of Computer Science, University of Hertfordshire) 18 October 2006 [postponed from 11 October] Lecture Theatre E350 Hatfield, College Lane Campus 3 - 4 pm Coffee/tea and biscuits will be available. [Catering Permitting] Everyone is Welcome to Attend [Space Permitting] Abstract: As researchers find out more and more about processes in living cells, modelling and simulation techniques are being used to get new insights into these complex processes. The processes consist of reactions in which molecules are produced or rebuilt. Successive reactions build reaction pathways. These biochemical pathways can be modelled in mathematical equations which are solved by computers. This process is called simulation. I will present the results of my PhD thesis that support the modelling process by creating a dynamic layout for a list of reactions and the analysis of simulation results of biochemical pathways by visualizing these results in a clearer way. -------------------------------------------------- Hertfordshire Computer Science Research Colloquium http://homepages.feis.herts.ac.uk/~nehaniv/colloq
