UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COMPUTER SCIENCE RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM presents "Digital Organisms" speaker: Attila Egri-Nagy Algorithms & Adaptive Systems Research Groups University of Hertfordshire 2 April 2003 (Wednesday) Lecture Theatre A600 Hatfield Campus 3 - 4 pm Coffee/tea and biscuits will be available. Everyone is Welcome to Attend Abstract: As the darwinian theory of evolution can be formulated on an abstract level we can apply the principle of natural selection to self-replicating computer programs written in assembly-like languages. In this talk, I will expose the idea of digital evolution in detail and our new approach putting the genotype-phenotype relation under evolutionary control. This is followed by the analysis of current results and a brief discussion of the perspectives of further development. ----- Hertfordshire Computer Science Research Colloquium Abstracts On-line: http://homepages.feis.herts.ac.uk/~nehaniv/colloq/
